I am super excited to be holding my first yoga workshop in Edinburgh at the end of June! This workshop is going to be all about going back to basics.
When you’re new to yoga, it can be daunting going to a group class. It’s easy to get lost and not get the attention you need to see if you’re holding asanas (poses) correctly and that you doing transitions safely to avoid any injuries. Even if you’ve been practising for years, sometimes we can forget about correct alignment, so this workshop will be a bit of a refresher for everybody.
In this two-hour workshop, I will take you through the sun salutations and some of my favourite standing and seated poses, including balances and inversions! By the end of the workshop, you will start to feel more confident in knowing how to get into poses and how to align yourself correctly.
Towards the end of the class I will talk about breathing techniques in yoga, in particular, ujjayi breath (audible breathing) and how this can make your practice stronger and more focused.
Above all else, we’re going to learn, have some fun and you will leave feeling happier, healthier and ready to take on the yoga world!
I hope to see you there! Peace + love, Nims
