Autumn is my favourite season, I love the leaves falling off the trees, the fact that I can wear my beanie and wrap up. I also love that it’s my birthday season (November baby yeah!). This is my first autumn spent living in Edinburgh and I wanted to share some things I’ve been loving at the moment.
Cafe: Pumpkin Brown
Hands down Pumpkin Brown has the best pumpkin spiced latte I’ve ever had in my life. It’s a plant powered blend of coffee, pumpkin, cinnamon, maple syrup and hazelnut milk and is perfect for a Saturday morning kick up the bum. 10/10, Pumpkin Brown, you nailed it.
Book: The Art of Living, Thich Nhat Hanh
Anything to curl up in bed wearing my cosies with a book in hand. A good friend of mine recently recommended The Art of Living by Thich Nhat Hanh and from page one I was hooked. This book is all about understanding the world and ourselves, in times when we really need to be mindful. His short stories and musings make living a peaceful and joyous life easy and attainable. Another reason not to get out of bed. Cosy goals smashed.
Food: beans on toast
A classic British fave – beans on toast! I found some plant powered beans I just love by brand Whole Earth and they’re pretty similar to Heinz! These on a couple of slices of sourdough bread is breakfast, lunch and dinner dreams come true!
Walk: Dean Village
I love walking. Any opportunity I get, I’ll go out for a walk. I recently went to Dean Village for the afternoon and I was in awe of the architecture, the waterfall and all the natural surroundings. If you haven’t been, go and take a wee wander.
Fave candle – Isle of Skye Candle Company
I’ve loved these candles forever, but recently, lighting candles is definitely something I’ve been doing more of to get all the cosy feels. Isle of Skye candles are natural soy wax candles and some of my favourite scents are Lavender, Oriental Lily, Vanilla and Fig and Juniper. Anything to set the mood.
